We had to swap out an old AC motor on a conveyor line last week; the bearings were shot and it kept tripping the overloads. The new unit is a standard NEMA frame, so the mount and shaft alignment were straightforward, but we did have to rewire the junction box because the terminal layout was different. After a full test run, it runs smooth and quiet, and the drive parameters didn't need any tweaking. Just a routine replacement, but it saved us from a production shutdown.
